The headlines are not quite accurate – this is now the deepest cave system explored by a British team – rather than a particularly deep caving trip. I’ll put up lots of photos and the full expedition report soon (probably after Hidden Earth).

We had a successful expedition to Culiembro this summer and I was very lucky to be the one whose turn it was to dive the second undived sump – which connected us to Xitu. It was an amazing team effort and we were all very pleased to have made the connection. You can see see the coverage we received in the Mail on Sunday
