I’m available to give presentations on cave diving. I’m passionate about telling stories about the exploits of cave divers and publicising the hard work and effort they go to, to explore new places.

Synopsis of lectures:

UK Cave diving: A presentation on the specialist equipment and techniques used in UK ‘sidemount’ cave diving, the typical UK sump conditions and the approach of the CDG in underwater exploration in the UK. Drawing on experiences and finds in various UK caves including Wigmore Swallet in Somerset and Roaring Hole and Ellerbeck Cave both in the Yorkshire Dales. UK cave diving is not glamorous, it’s cold, muddy and you’re often a long way from home. Find out what you’re not missing!

Culiembro Expedition Cave Diving. Spain, Sun, Sumps and two weeks in a wetsuit: In 2009 and again in 2010 a team of UK cave divers travelled to the Picos de Europa mountain range in Northern Spain. The objective was to explore the resurgence cave Culiembro and look for a connection to one of the potholes on the plateau above. The UK divers swapped the small cold muddy passages they were used to exploring for the large cold crystal clear water of a Spanish mountain cave. Using modified equipment including lightweight rebreathers this is a story of ingenuity and perseverance set against the history or cave exploration in this mountain range.
